Harvard made a clean sweep of the first cross country meet of the year this afternoon with Holy Cross, winning the first five places.
The University entered 10 men, and all of them ran a good race over the flat course along the Charles, which follows the river around the Anderson bridge, crosses over at the Watertown bridge, and comes back down the other bank.
Four of Harvard's men were out of today's run, including N. P. Hallowell '32. The prospects are bright for the coming year, as is showed by Murphy's time, which was exceptionally good. Also in view of the fact that all the men did not run Harvard will probably have a most successful season.
The summary of the University run follows:
Murphy (H), Estes (H), Foote (H), Wesley (H), Burr (B), Cuneo (B.C.), Blake (B.C.), Parent (H.C.), Wheelwright (H), Madden (H.C.), Davis (H), Bodges (H), Steele (H), Welden (B.C.), Flynn (B), and Maher (H.C.), Time 24m., 06s.
