LANCERS EDGE OUT POLO TRIO IN LAST CHUKKER

OPPONENTS SHOW SUPERIOR SKILL THROUGHOUT CONTEST

Successfully stemming a last minute barrage of shots at their goal the Lancers managed to edge out the University polo team by a 7 1-2 to 7 score in Commonwealth Armory on Saturday night. The Harvard malletmen found the range of the Lancer's goal in the closing chukker and made four goals in the last few minutes of play.

During the first five chukkers the lancers showed superior hitting skill and were always close after the ball. They spread their scoring evenly, making at least one goal in each chukker. The Harvard riders displayed ability to follow the ball and shone at riding off their opponents but were unable to make use of their opportunities because of their inferior handling of mallets.

In the last chukker, however, when they found the ball they made a concerted attack on their opponents' goal and made excellent use of their shots. Nicholas contributed four goals and Luton two while the individual high scorer of the game was Hart, of the Lancers, who made five tallies.

The summary: LANCERS  HARVARD Choate, No. 1  No. 1, Luton Hart, No. 2  No. 2; Kimball Brigham, back  back, Nicholas

Score--Lancers 7 1-2, Harvard 7. Goals: Choate 4. Hart 5, Nicholas 4, Luton 2. Fouls: Choate, Brigham 2.
