With the quota for the first year class set at 600 students, applications for entrance to the Harvard School of Business Administration have already reached a total of 570 with more coming in continually. The number of applications received before May 1 this year exceeds by over 60 percent the figure for the corresponding period last year.
Since 1926, the enrollment in the Business School has steadily increased. In the academic year 1926-1927, there were 728 students registered in the school including part time special students and candidates for the degree of Doctor of Commercial Science.
In the 1927-1928 season the quota of 400 for the first-year class was reached and a limit of 500 was set for this year and was exceeded by 22. This year also saw the number of Harvard graduates registered in the first-year class jump from about 110 to 140.
With the large number of applications for next year's class coming in, Business School authorities have urged that Harvard College Seniors intending to enroll should file their applications immediately. It is also expected that, due to the number of applicants, admission requirements may be made more strict. At present, the rules for admission require only that the applicant have a "degree from an approved college and a general record satisfactory to the Business School."
