Putting on a final spurt in the last few minutes of play the United States Naval Academy basketball team managed to squeeze out a 43 to 40 victory over the University squad at Annapolis on Saturday.
It was a nip-and-tuck game throughout. Harvard took a slight lead at the start but lost it soon after when Colestock, the Navy star, went on a scoring orgy and tallied 12 points inside of ten minutes. During this time Harvard scored only five points. The score at the end of the first half was 22 to 17 in favor of Navy.
After the rest Harvard come back and played the Navy on even terms. Towards the end of the game three successive baskets by P. W. Mahady '31 and a shot by S. C. Burns '30 tied the score at 35 all. The Navy however put on a determined drive and forged ahead again just before the whistle ended the game. Goals from field--Colestock 7, C. Miller 3, Bernet 2, H. Bauer, Allen, J.
