Under the auspices of the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures. Hans Naumann, professor of Germanic Philology at the University of Frankfurt, Germany, will give three public lectures in German next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, according to an announcement yesterday. Professor Naumann is one of the most distinguished contemporary German critics.
The first lecture, "Karolingische and ottinische Renaissance," will deal with Medieval Latin and German literature, a field in which Professor Naumann first experimented. The second, "Geschichte des Puppenspiels in Deutschland," will discuss folk literature. In the third lecture Professor Naumann will discuss, "Rainer Maria Rilke and der Ubergang vom Impressionismus zum Expressionismus," which will treat contemporary German literature.
These lectures will be given in Emerson D, daily at 4.30 o'clock in the afternoon.
