On the program of the Boston Symphony Orchestra for this afternoon and tomorrow night at Symphony Hall, Serge Koussevitzky will offer one novel selection, Gruenberg's Symphony Poem, "Enchanted Isle" Gruenberg is a Russian, born in 1885, now living and working in New York, best known in American concert halls by a swirling setting of Vachel Lindsay's "Daniel Jazz".
Other numbers in this series of concerts are Mozart's "Symphony in E-Flat Major", Ravel's "Suite from the Ballet, "Mother Goose", and the "Rondo for Orchestra" of Strauss, "Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks."
For Symphony concerts of Friday, November 15, and Saturday, November 16, the program is: Spohr's "Nocturne and Turkish Music for Wind Instruments", "Burma" and "Java" by Eichheim, and Strauss' "Sinfonia Domestica".
Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock Vladimir Horowitz, pianist, will give a concert in Symphony Hall, playing the Brahms "Sonata in F Minor, Op. 5", Prokotieff's "Diabolic Suggestion's", "Joyous Isle" by Debussy, Chopin's "Polonaise in A-Sharp Minor", "Impromptu in A-Flat," and "Brilliant Waltz", and the Liszt "Fantasia on themes from Mozart's Opera, 'Don Juan'".
