Harvard men, both graduates and undergraduates, figure prominently in the entry list of the Massachusetts State Squash Racquets Singles Tournament which opens next Monday on the University courts. Several of the Crimson participants are ranked as seeded players.
W. J. Iselin '29, captain of the University team this season, who has not yet dropped a set to an opponent, is rated by many squash experts as the outstanding player in the state, while Myles Baker '22 who has played in number one position for the Union Boat Club this season is also ranked in high position. T. E. Jansen '26, number one man on the Cambridge Racquet Club, is another former member of the University team who is listed among the seeded entries in the State Tournament. Francis Hill '24, another seeded player, was number one man on the Harvard Club team which won the Class A title in the State Squash Racquets League last Saturday. Other ranking players who are entered in the State tournament are Ralph Powers, outstanding player for the Tennis and Racquet Club and Rice, number one man on the Newton Center outfit.
J. L. Pool '29, captain of last year's University team, and winner of the State title last season will be unable to defend his crown this year, since he is now residing out of the state.
