Entries for the fall singles tennis tournament closed last night with many promising candidates for tennis honors.
In class A 95 men registered with four seeded players: 1. G. H. Perkins 3S.A. 2. Louis Brewer, Instructor. 3. T. E. Johnson 2L. 4. E.B. Ward '29. Several members of last year's tennis team, all of whom have returned, were unable to compete because of divisionals.
In Class B 111 registered, most-of-them being freshmen. Little is known of these entrants, the primary object of this tournament being to bring forward promising material from which the winter squad is composed.
The singles tournament begins tomorrow, and the first round must be played by Monday night. Courts have been reserved Monday and Friday for contestants. As many as possible of the class A competitors are requested to play on the Divinity School courts, while those who are unable to get courts there should use the Jarvis courts with the class B players. Manager J. O. Ross '29 urges everyone to play off their matches as quickly as possible while the good weather lasts.
