According to statistics made public at Wadsworth House yesterday with regard to the 1931 spring sports, more Freshmen participate in tennis than in any other form of athletic activity. Two hundred and twenty-three men play tennis, while crew and track are the next most popular sports, attracting 138 and 121 first year men respectively.
The enrollment for this year is very similar to that of last year, with slightly more men out for tennis and fever in the single sculls.
The number of Freshmen who are engaged in other sports is as follows: singles, 83; baseball, 62; swimming, 33; equitation, 22; lacrosse, 21; hiking, 20; fencing, 17; handball, 16; gymnasium, 9; soccer, 7; specials, 34.
Hiking, an innovation last year, continues to be popular with a roster of 20 adherents.
