CRIMSON CREWS LEAVE FOR TRIANGULAR RACE

150-POUND CREW LEAVES TO ROW YALE AND PRINCETON

The two University crews entrain this morning at 10.45 o'clock for Philadelphia for the regatta on Saturday against the Navy and Pennsylvania eights.

C. E. Mason '30, regular No. 4 oarsman on the first crew will make the trip although he is still handicapped by an infected hand. C. N. Comstock '30 will also accompany the squad as a substitute in the event of a last minute injury to any of the men.

Coach E. J. Brown '96 has kept C. McK. Norton '29 in Mason's place in the first shell since the Tech-Cornell race last Saturday and it is probable that Norton will be in the boat at starting time this week end. D. S. Greer '29 has taken over Norton's post on the Junior University crew.

The Crimson boats, powerful as they generally are conceded to be for a four mile grind are not favored against the Navy over the probable mile and five sixteenths distance on the Schnylkill.

The Harvard oarsmen will have an opportunity tomorrow both in the morning and the afternoon to become accustomed to the conditions prevailing on the river and work out any muscular kinks acquired during the journey.

Pennsylvania is accorded only an outside chance Saturday against the heavy eight stroked by Captain John Watts '28 and the last Navy crew. For a Crimson victory, it will be necessary for Watts to pace his boat at a beat three or four points higher than the 36 strokes to the minute he has used successfully on the Charles against M. I. T. and Cornell.

Coach C. S. Heard '25 will also take his 150-pound oarsmen to Derby, Connecticut, this Saturday to face the Yale and Princeton light weights over the Henley distance.

The boatings for the two University crews on the Schuylkill will be as follows:

University Crew--Stroke. Captain Watts; 7, Guy Murchie '29; 6, F. A. Clark '29; 5, W. G. Saltonstall '28; 4, Norton; 3, W. T. Emmet '29; 2, A. A. Campbell '30; bow. L. W. Dickey '30; cox., C. H. Pforzheimer '28.

Second University Crew-Stroke, James Lawrence '29; 7, Allerton Cushman '29; 6, B. J. Harrison '29; 5. J. DeW. Hubbard '29; 4. D. S. Greer '29; 3. M. R. Brownell '30; 2, D. S. M. Lanier '28; bow. A. R. Gray '30; cox., R. W. Herr '28
