UNIVERSITY HORSEMEN MEET YALE TEAM TODAY

GAME TO BE PLAYED AT 4 O'CLOCK AT WESTWOOD

HARVARD  YALE Shaw, No. 1  No. 1, Wallop Burnett, No. 2  No. 2, Phipps Cotton, No. 3  No. 3, Baldwin Mandell, back  back, Scott

In the first of two spring outdoor clashes with the Yale horsemen, the University polo quintet will ride onto the field of W. Cameron Forbes '92 at Westwood at 4 o'clock this afternoon.

Weakened by the loss of Captain W. H. White '29, who has recently undergone an operation for appendicitis, and F. A. Clark '29, who is now rowing at No. 6 on the University crew, the Crimson riders will be somewhat handicapped in this first match. During the practice sessions of the past week, however, held on the fields of R. G. Shaw II '93 at West Newton and the Dedham Polo and Country Club, the team has made a good showing against the Freshman horsemen and the club quartet.

This is the encounter which was to have been played on Soldiers Field according to early season plans. It was not found practicable to play it there, however, and Governor Forbes offered the use of his field instead.

The Yale players were unable to ship their ponies to Boston, and so will use mounts borrowed from the University squad and from private owners. Last week the Blue team showed its strength by downing Princeton 5 to 4 in a hard-fought contest. Today's tilt will not decide the supremacy of Harvard or Yale, as a return encounter will be played at New Haven on June 2.
