NEW CREW LAUNCH IS LOST AT SEA EN ROUTE TO BOSTON

The newly constructed 27-foot speed launch "Red Top," destined to be the flagship for Coach E. J. Brown '96, has been lost at sea, it was reported yesterday. The powerboat left Greenport, Long Island, early last Saturday morning to make the voyage to Cambridge. It was piloted by two men, one of them the designer of the craft, and was expected to complete the run by Monday afternoon. After passing through the Cape Cod canal, however, the "Red Top" and its crew disappeared.

The body of its builder was subsequently found on the shore at Scituate. Since then, two southwesters, a boat-hook, and a hatch-cover from the ill-fated launch have been discovered by searchers, making it apparent that the "Red Top" was capsized, either by a heavy head-wind or collision with some obstacle.
