The Liberal Club will debate Lincoln University, the pioneer negro college, at 8.15 o'clock this evening in Tremont Temple on the question: "Resolved, That further intermixing of races in the United States is desirable." The Harvard team, composed of J. K. Fairbank '29 and E. H. Hubbard '30, will uphold the affirmative, while R. H. Hill and Thurgood Marshall, of Lincoln University, will uphold the negative of the question. L. G. Brooks '02, a Boston lawyer, will preside.
The debate will be opened with Fairbank's speech for the affirmative. Then Marshall will state the negative point of view, followed by Hubbard and Hill, of Harvard and Lincoln respectively. The four introductory speeches will be 18 minutes in length, while each man will have the opportunity of a four-minute rebuttal.
The question of the evening's debate is not to be limited to the relations of negro and white races alone but will deal as well with possible intermixing with the Japanese and Chinese peoples.
