First Year Men Suffer 52 to 29 Defeat in First Dual Meet

At Andover Saturday the Freshman track team suffered a 52 to 29 defeat in the first dual meet of the year. The first year men won three first places in the track events, but were overwhelmed by Andover's power in the weight and field events., being shut out in the shot put and pole vault.

40-Yard dash--Won by E.B. McGath; second, A.L. Watkins '31; third, Haines (A). Time, 4 4-5.s

40-Yard hurdles--Won by Pitkin (A); second, Tate (A); third, W.K. Page '31. Time, 5 4-5s.

300-Yard dash--Win by A.L. Watkins '31; second, J.P. Gray '31; third, Nowfield (A). Time, 34 4-5s.

600-Yard run--Won by W.C. Rowe '31; second, T. Barres (A); third, Clarke (A). Time, 1m. 18 4-5s.

1000-Yard run--Won by Forbes (A); second, French (A); third, R.C. Coleridge '31. Time, 2m. 21 4-5s.

Running broad jump--Won by Avery (A).; second, W.C. Rowe '31; third, R.E. Seeger '31. Distance, 21ft. 3 3-4 in.

Running high jump--Won by Avery (A); second, Ganson (A); third, C.A. Snelling '31. Hight, 5 ft. 6 in.

Pole vault--Won by Lee (A); second, Pickett (A); third, Pierce (A). Height, 10 ft. 7 in.

Shot put--Won by Hoffman (A); second, Houston (A); third H. Jackson (A). Distance, 49 ft. 1 1-2 in. (New Record).
