SUBSTITUTES WORK ON LEHIGH ATTACK

French, O'Connell, Ticknor, Davis, and Warner in Light Drill--Opponents Arrive Today

Yesterday afternoon's workout for the University football squad was devoted to further demonstration of the Lehigh formations and forward passing drill, both offensive and defensive. Team B once again received the majority of the coaches attention, a fact which seems to establish beyond doubt the probability of its seeing plenty of action against the Bethlehem invaders.

The scrubs ran through a long demonstration of the various Lehigh plays for the benefit of the Crimson reserve material, putting on numerous formations of rather odd nature. It was revealed that the Engineers often use a nine man line on the attack. There were only a few changes in the Team B lineup from that of the previous workout. J. W. Potter '30, erstwhile fullback who has been shifted to the tackle squad, was given a much needed drill in view of the fact that he may take the place of K. D. Robinson '29 tomorrow. That will be his initial test in the new post and the possibility of his holding down this berth during the rest of the season will depend on his showing tomorrow. In the event of Potter's remaining on the bench, John Parkinson '29 will be at guard, with Robinson resuming his regular tackle position.

Backfields in Passing Drill

Two backfield and end combinations were sent through a skeleton drill on forward passes. E. T. Putnam Jr. '30, S. L. Batchelder '31, T. W. Gilligan '31, and A. W. Huguley '31, with J. B. Baldwin '31 and S. C. Burns '29 were used on the offensive against a backfield composed of George Crawford ocC., David Guarnaccia '29, A. L. Devens '30, and G. L. Graves '31, aided by R. H. O'Connell '29 and F. A. Pickard '29. The other linemen, meanwhile, were engaged in contact work on blocking and shifting.

Several of the injured men reported for light practice yesterday, but J. G. Douglas '30 and W. R. Harper '30 were still in civilian clothes. A. E. French '29, R. H. O'Connell '30, W. D. Ticknor '30, F. S. Davis '30, and R. S. Warner '31 ran through signal drill with the regular Team A.
