Hanover, N. H., October 23--The Dartmouth gridiron team failed to produce anything definite as to the weapons it plans to use against Harvard Saturday in the workout held this afternoon.
Coach Hawley sent his men through a long session devoted only to signal drill and rehearsal of defense formations against Crimson plays. McDonough took over the signal calling for the first team once more, and marched his machine up and down the gridiron for over an hour, calling into use all the plays new and old, that the Indians have in the bag.
The first half of the session was devoted wholly to forward passing, and Hawley then ordered the Green eleven to open up with its straight plays. The Dartmouth coach is satisfied with the foundation of his team and will be concerned with smoothing out assignments this week.
At Marsters jumped back into his old halfback post today after yesterday's light workout, and did most of the passing for the Indians, Rooms, regular end, was absent from practice and it seems certain that Dankert will take over the left wing berth for the Harvard contest. Otherwise the Green forward wall is intact.
