TRAYMORE IS DAMAGED BY STUBBORN NOON HOUR FIRE

Luncheons of the noon hour rush crowd in the Traymore Cafeteria on Harvard Square were brought to a sudden close yesterday by a fire which burned out several yards of the dining room.

The blaze is believed to have been caused by a match carelessly thrown from the window into the narrow space dividing the frame building of the Traymore from the brick structure of the Cambridge Savings Bank. Flames suddenly burst through the wall of the restaurant and sent the diners scattering to the street. Firemen fought for half an hour to get the blaze under control.

A similar fire took place in the same section of the building two months ago. The damage of yesterday's fire was estimated by Peter Raft, manager of the establishment, at between $3000 and $4000. It will not be found necessary to close the cafeteria for repairs.
