To the Editor of the Crimson:
Permit me to make a suggestion in connection with the new University Dining Hall. Has it not occurred to you that a great many more men would be attracted to the project if it were made possible for them to pay only for the meals which they actually take? Why can't meal tickets be issued which would be punched until used up? Men who sleep late in the morning and who leave Cambridge every week-end can hardly be expected to pay for twenty-one meals per week when they take only ten.
Further. I think it should be made possible for those who are opposed to the club table plan to dine alone or with one or two friends: that is a good supply of tables for two and four should be provided.
Under the above conditions I for one should be most happy to patronize the new Dining Hall. Yours very truly, Varian Fry '30
