TENNIS PLAYERS DOWN LEHIGH TEAM BY 9 TO 1

Sullivan Conquers Whit beck for Only Engineer Victory--Crimson Takes Other Matches in Straight Sets

The Harvard tennis team overwhelmed the Lehigh racquet wielders on the Jarvis Field courts yesterday by a score of 9 to 1. The No.1 singles match was the only struggle which the visitors were able to capture.

In an exhibition of whirlwind tennis Nell Sullivan of Lehigh, protege of W. Tilden, II, defeated J. F. W. Whitbeck '27, 6-4, 7-5. All the remaining matches went to the Crimson players in straight sets.

The summary of the singles; Neil Sullivan defeated J. F. W. Whitbeck '27, 6-4, 7-5; L. H. Gorden '27 defeated Arthur Usher, 6-3, 6-2; P. M. Lenhart '27 defeated Alfred Trumbull, 6-1, 6-0; B. H. Whitbeck '29 defeated John Mulloy, 6-1, 10-8; J. H. Appleton '29 defeated George Doty, 6-4, 8-6; Stephen Thompson '27 defeated John Frey, 6-1, 6-3; T. O. Kingsbury '27 defeated Mortimer Sweatzer, 6-0, 6-3.

The summary of the doubles: J. F. W. Whitbeck and Gordon defeated Sullivan and Molloy, 6-1, 6-1; Lenhart and Appleton defeated Doty and Trumbull, 6-3, 11-9; Kingsbury and B. H. Whitbeck defeated Frey and Usher, 6-1, 6-0.

The second University tennis team plays M. I. T. today.
