The North Shore Golf and Tennis Club has offered its privileges to Harvard undergraduates, the H. A. A. announced last night. The Club, formerly the Salem Golf Club, is just outside of Salem on the Salem-Danvers car line, less than 20 miles from Cambridge.

Although the Club has no official agreement with the H. A. A. Director of Athletics W. J. Bingham '16 said last night, "I give my approval, to the plan because it will offer one more sport to students and will help the spread of our athletics for all policy."

The North Shore Club offered the use of its course to Harvard students when is became known that the project to make the Weld Course available to students had fallen through. According to present arrangements, undergraduates will be able to use the golf course at any time for a green fee of $2.00, or by special seasonal rates. It is understood, furthermore, that if sufficient men apply for the privileges offered by the club, a reduction in the fee will be possible.

No definite arrangements with a local golf club have been made by the H. A. A. since a satisfactory agreement with the Weld Country Club became out of the question. The situation at Harvard is in striking contrast with that at Yale, where 400 acres have been developed under a $500,000 project to accommodate the Blue golfers.
