THE STUDENT VAGABOND

A really serious and well-intentioned vagabond should return within the pale after a well-rounded and on the whole rather delightful vacation, with so much enthusiasm for the Arts, Nature and other matters of great import to University Hall that he can hardly wait to attend his first class. There is a considerable degree of assurance that he will do so, but unfortunately not with quite the elan which might he desired All this because two occurrences, one quite delicious and the other unfortunate to an untold degree marred he bright days just gone by.

The former happening, which look us to the heights of expectant excitement only to let us down quite too suddenly after all was to see someone off on a trip to Europe. At this season of the year with the so-called spring fever attacking everyone, to put foot within an "ocean greyhound", a "floating metropolis" or what not is enough to cause even the most stolid to think twice before deciding definitely not to stow away. The writing of this little tribute to insanity and mental vagrancy is fairly definite proof that no such glorious prank was played on the steamship company; at least by this party, but the excitement attendant upon such an event has completely upset our mental processes and we can think of nothing better to do than reminisce and wait for that nine weeks distant moment when we too shall join that vast company which goes down to the sea and then into the ships.

But on the other side of the stage from this little bit of sunshine stands the greatest blunder mistake error bit of misfortune that has befallen the Vase bond in some little time. Spending a few days in Gotham we decided that when in New York one should do as the others and an attempt was made to view the remains of Messrs Barium and Ringling Brother's Circus Success did not and even the gentle little speculators were far distant from the adjoining sidewalks. Having thus been balked in our attempt to add a see and bit of sunshine to an otherwise tepid stay in the metropolis we returned to these so much sadder and wiser that to deliver a worthy discuses today is utterly out of the question.
