DRAMATIC CANDIDATES TO HEAR ANDRE CHARLOT

CLUB OPENS COMPETITIONS WITH INITIAL GATHERING

Andre Charlot, originator and producer of "Charlot's Revue", now in Boston, and Professor Arthur Pope '01, Professor of Fine Arts in the University, will be the speakers at the open meeting of the Dramatic Club in the Faculty Room of the Union. Monday at 7.30 o'clock. At that time competitions will begin in all departments except acting for the spring production, "The Taming of the Shrew."

Professor Pope has been associated with the Dramatic Club in many of its former productions. He has designed and supervised the construction of several sets used by it in earlier years. Lately as a membere of the Advisory Committee, he has helped to choose the plays. His talk will be in the nature of a history of the work done by the Dramatic Club.

The competitions to be opened are in the stage, business, electrical, costume, and publicity departments. As in former open meetings, the heads of their respective departments will outline the work which candidates will be expected to do. Those who are successful in the competitions are elected to membership in the club, and are then eligible for one of the positions on the production committee.
