William Gurdon Saltonstall '28 of Readville, was yesterday elected President of the Phillips Brooks House Association. He succeeds C. G. T. Lundell '27. Other officers elected were: William Nelson Bump '28 of New Rochelle, N. Y., Vice-President; Albert Goodwill Churchill '29 of San Diego, California, Secretary; Winslow Carlton '29 of New York City, Treasurer; Henry Frederick Schwarz '29 of Greenwich, Conn., Librarian.
The balloting was comparatively light, and the polls in Sever Hall were closed at 4 o'clock, an hour before those, in the Phillips Brooks House.
In the race for the presidency Saltonstall defeated J. L. Beauchamp '28, W. N. Bump '28, and V. O. Jones '28. Bump, who ran second, was, in accordance with the rules govening the lection, made vice-president.
Churchill's lone competitor for Secretary was J. deW. Hubbard '29. Similarly, Carlton drew more votes than E. W. Sexton '29. D. P. Tucker '29, and R. G. West '29 were defeated by Schwarz.
The newly-elected officers will take office immediately after the spring recess, and will remain for one year. These men with the various committee heads to be chosen by the President, will constitute the Phillips Brooks House Cabinet for 1927-1928.
