The 33 games to be played this spring comprise of the longest Harvard baseball schedules in history. The list announced last night, includes a Southern trip with five games.
The Freshman schedule also annonuced, lists 14 games for the 1930 nine. A game with Andover on May 30 ends the season, following the game with the Yale Freshmen, the usual climax, by two days.
The University season will open April 9, when Boston University is opposed at Soldiers Field. On the same day the Freshmen will travel to Concord to battle with Middlesex School.
Few strange names are seen on the University schedule. Vanderbilt, which plays here June 7, and Villa Nova, which invades Soldiers Field on May 27, are the only distinct newcomers on the list. A home-and-home series with William and Mary, and a journey to the Berkshires to oppose the William nine, are unusual features.
The University schedule is as follows:
April 9--Boston Universitly.
13--Springfield.
16--Bates.
18--William and Mary at Williamsburg.
19--Open.
20--U. S. Naval Academy at Annapolis.
21--Catholic University at Washington.
22--Georgetown at Georgetown.
23--Columbia at New York.
27--Bowdoin.
