Eight Clubs in Second Year Battle in Quarter Finals

With the second round of the Ames Competition for second year Law School men beginning Monday, eight clubs will present teams of two men each to do forensic battle for the right to compete in the semi finals next fail.

On Monday evening at 7.30 o'clock in Langdell Hall Center, the time and place of all four arguments, the Scott Club represented by H. P. Sharps and Homer woods will take issue with the Chafee Club represented by Joseph Cohen and M. B. Merchant, before Professor Beale as chief Justice on a case in Equity jurisdiction which involves the effect in one state of a decree of a court of Equity given in another state.

A week from today, J. H. Head and F. M. Shea of the Holmes Club Will argue against H. P. Carter and J. C Tuaz of the Sanford Club; before Professor Magruder as chief Justice, on a case in Evidence dealing with the question, under what circumstances are the declarations of a testator admissible to prove the revocation of a will, or to show the contents of a last will.

On Wednesday, February 9, the Harlan club for which Edward de Castro and Charles Perlitz will take part, will oppose the Bryce-Powell club team composed of C. G. Heimerdinger and M. E. Purnell on another case in Evidence, involving the effect of a presumption on the burden of proof. Professor Morgan will act as Chief Justice.

On the following evening the final argument will take place between J. P. Hart and J. A. Lane of the Beale Club and A. P. Lake and H. H. W. Lewis of the Pound Club who will debate a case involving contracts and insurance, before assistant Professor C. J. Landis who will act as Chief Justice.
