INTRAMURAL COUNCIL ELECTS KETCHUM HEAD

HOCKEY AND SWIMMING MAY BE ADDED TO REPERTOIRE

At the second meeting of the Intramural Sports Council held last night in Hemenway Gymnasium, R. R. Ketchum '29, representative of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity, was elected president, and D. M. Chalmers '28, representative of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, was chosen secretary of the organization. After the election a vote of the Council increased the number of intramural sports which the organization will sponsor.

In addition to the inter-club basketball league, the Council organized a squash and handball league, and made plans for tournaments to be started in these two sports after the Christmas recess.

With these three sports definitely decided upon as activities of the Intramural Council, hockey, indoor track, and swimming were brought up as possibilities of increasing the Council's list of athletic events, and it was decided to bring these three forms of athletics up for a vote at the next meeting.

The inter-club basketball league will start practices under the general direction of A. W. Samborski '25, director of Intramural Sports, next Tuesday night in Hemenway Gymnasium. The first games will be played after the Christmas recess.

The following clubs and fraternities entered teams, which will be composed of three men instead of five, in the squash tournament: Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity, Delta Upsilon fraternity, Trident Club, Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, Kappa Mu fraternity, Tau Delta Phi fraternity, Phi Epsilon Pl fraternity, and Alpha Chi Sigma fraternity.

Entered in the handball tournament were the Alpha Mu Sigma fraternity, Sigma Omega Psi fraternity, Kappa Mufraternity, and the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity.
