With over 90 Freshmen signed up for winter track, a larger number than has ever before come out for this sport, and with regular University practice beginning Monday, the winter track season is getting under way.
Coach E.L. Farrell will this year have better facilities for handling a large number of runners than ever before, as the two tracks in the new baseball cage are ready for use, and the outdoor board track, which previously has been the only track available, will also be used.
The University schedule has not been announced, but tentative plans include a triangular meet with Cornell and Dartmouth in February, at which time a Freshman relay team will also compete, the Intercollegiates, and the possible entrance of individual runners in club meets.
The loss of A.H. Miller '27, whose sprinting was a feature of the winter season last year, will be felt, but A.E. French '29 is expected to fill the sprinter's place on the team, with J.L. Reid '29, and J.O. Wildes '29 doing the distance work.
