THE STUDENT BUDGET

Budgets, local and national, have come into economic favor in the years since the war. In particular, the Student Council budget for undergraduate activities has justified itself in the most practical way possible, oversubscription. In place of a multiplicity of drives featuring perspiring collectors and an indifferent collection, the single drive disposes of the problem for the year.

Men who were in college under the old system will also notice with a smile that not only is duplication of effort done away with but also that a single contribution with a five dollar minimum has replaced the many solicitations for the same minimum amount. This single fact is in itself sufficient comment on the inefficient methods of the former system.

There remains one finishing touch to make the Student Council Budget a success the prompt payment of the amounts pledged. Once these sums are paid pocket-books may rest content, having discharged both their philanthropic and patriotic duties for the year.
