GOLFERS BEAT AMHERST AS GREEN LOSES IN TENNIS

UNIVERSITY RACQUET WIELDERS NOT EXTENDED TO WIN

Winning by decisive scores, the University tennis and golf teams each added another victory to their already long string of wins. The Netmen shut out Dartmouth 6 to 0, while the golfers took five matches to Amherst's one.

The Dartmouth tennis team, playing on Divinity Courts, was completely outclassed by the local players. Whitbeck and Perkins both dropped one set to Boyd and Partridge, the Green stars, but took the decisive third sets with ease. Although the match was between four man teams. Lanhart and Smith replaced Perkins and Pratt in the doubles so that six Crimson athletes saw action.

The summary: Singles, Whitbeck (H) defeated Boyd (D), 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. Perkins (H) defeated Partridge (D), 2-6, 6-2, 6-0; Gordon (B) defeated Morcuft (D), 6-2, 6-4; Pratt (H) defeated Moore (D) 6-3, 6-2; doubles Whitbeck and Gordon (H) defeated Partridge and Boyd (D), 6-1, 6-1; Lenhart and Smith (H) defeated Morcraft and Moore (D), 6-2, 7-5.

The University golfers also had little trouble downing Amherst at Weston, Cole of Harvard being the only Crimson's player to lose. Captain Stimpson turned in a 75, which is only our above par for the course.
