PROFESSOR COPELAND WILL GIVE ENGLISH 5 NEXT YEAR

Professor C. T. Copeland '82, Boylston Professor of Rhetoric and Oratory, will resume his teaching of English composition when, next fall, he takes over English 5, a course long made famous by Dean Briggs, who conducted it during the period of his incumbancy.

At the time of his elevation to the chair of Boylston Professor of Rhetoric and Oratory, Professor Copeland had intended to teach English 5, but was prevented from doing so by ill health. During the past year, therefore, Professor R. M. Gay of Simmons College, has conducted the course in his stead. Next fall will be the first time that it has been given inder Professor Copeland.

Enrolment in English 5 is necessarily limited, and for this purpose, a competitive examination is held. The examination for members of the present Junior and Scphomore classes will be conducted on Friday at 4 o'clock in Emerson D.
