To the Editor of the CRIMSON:
In the past two years, we have witnessed the rise of an undergraduate organization from a loose, disintegrated group, quite unsuccessful, to a well-ballanced and well-organized body, highly popular within the college and outside it I refer to the Instrumental Clubs.
The work of one man has been largely responsible for the change in fortunes of this particular organization, and to him praise is due. His enthusiasm and ability aroused interest, his foresight created a wholly new unit of undergraduate activity. His personal qualities have dominated this organization, and the organization has responded to a remarkable degree. But like all men in college, he must pass on and leave his work to those who follow.
For the sake of many good times and many acquaintances made in conjunction with this organization, we hope that there will be interest and ability to carry on this work which has won well-deserved favor. May the Harvard Instrumental Clubs continue their work on fulfilling a popular demand for joysome music. G. E. Smith '26
