At 7 o'clock tonight the CRIMSON will start its second business competition of the year. Several innovations have been adopted. The competition has been shortened to nine weeks, ending before the start of the Mid-year examination period, and has also been opened to members of the Junior class as well as to Sophomores.
More Work, More Men
All these changes have been brought about by an increase in the amount of work to be handled by the Business department. And this, in turn, has created a demand for additional men on the Board.
At the meeting tonight the Business Manager will outline the work to be done, and will answer any questions that may be brought up. The duties at this time of the year will consist largely of soliciting advertisements with a small amount of office work during the day. Men who are contemplating doing CRIMSON work are urged to come to this meeting.
Experience is Valuable
The business experience gained from the CRIMSON competition has been declared by former members of the Business department to be highly practical and valuable after college. The time required does not detract a great deal from a candidate's academic work.
The work is interesting and gives a CRIMSON candidate every opportunity for becoming acquainted with modern business methods and with the operation of a newspaper. He becomes accustomed to a position of responsibility and with advancement, his originality and business capacity are more and more developed.
