The Union tenins tournament this fall will be divided into two classes, for outstanding and medium singles players. This plan, successfully put into effect last year, increased considerably the number of entrants. In addition to the two singles competitions, there will be a doubles tournament. Silver cups will be awarded to the winners in the three classes.
Entry books will be posted in the Union, Leavitt and Peirce's, and Harry Cowles' shop on Monday. These books will be taken down at 5 o'clock the following Saturday afternoon. Harry Cowles, University squash and tennis coach, will select 16 players from the entry list to compete in the Class A singles.
The Union tournaments will be managed by G. H. Perkins '26, who handled last year's contests. It is announced that no men will be allowed to enter who are not members of the Union. Although participation in the tournament by outsiders has occurred in the past, officials of the Union stated that this custom would be definitely discontinued from now on.
