BINGHAM IN SYMPATHY WITH MOVEMENT TO BAN SCOUTING

The abolition of the practice of scouting the games of football adversaries is likely to be the next step of the University athletic administration. In a statement made yesterday, W. J. Bingham '16, Director of Athletics, expressed his approval of the principle of abolishing scouting, provided a practical solution can be reached.

Mr. Bingham was approached on this subject last spring, just after his appointment as Athletic Director. Although in sympathy with the proposed change in football policy, he felt unwilling to commit the University to any such step until he and his regime had weathered one season.

"It is my opinion," he declared yesterday, "that scouting is an undesirable practice. I am in sympathy with those who want it abolished, provided the step is practical and acceptable to my associates."
