Seek Traces of "Independent Men" at Harvard--Orator Preparing Philippic on Fraternities Writes "Dean of Men"

In connection with the oftea discussed topic of the lack of Traterrities at the University, a letter has appeared, addressed to the "Dean of Men" and signed by the "President of the Independe't Men's Association," which seems to have been organized as a union against unions. The Letter Follows:

"A short time ago someone told me that he was sure that there were no fraternities of Harvard Since they were no prealert elsewhere this seemed very different and interesting to me I would appreciate an account of the chance as well as the reason for dispensing with them.

"I have two purposes in asking for such information Fast. I am preparing an oration on the "Independent Man" and I need material. Secondly, the independent men here are now in their this year of organization and participation in student activities and we are making a special effort to inform them of Independent activities elsewhere.

"In cohesion may I ask., are the Independent men of Harvard afflicted with. or do they form a part of, a National Independent Association?"

The letter was referred to the Score fairy for information and has been perused by other members of the University who might been, but no trace has been curd of an organization of Independent Men, and re steps have been taken to wild the establishment of such an assemblage.
