Dr. Harvey Cushing '95, Moseley Professor of Surgery in the Medical School, made the presentation of a portrait of the late Edward Revere Osler, son of the famous surgeon, which was unveiled at the Tudor and Stuart Club of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. The portrait was given to the club by Lady Osler in memory of her son.
Dr. Cushing and the elder Edward Osler were old friends and had studied together in Baltimore. In 1917 Dr. Cushing went overseas as head of the Harvard Medical Unit and was present at the death of the young Englishman whose father he had known. When it was heard that Osler had been fatally wounded in the latter days of the War, Dr. Cushing was sent for, and attended him until he died.
