For the first time during the present season, the University baseball team will face an opponent this afternoon which comes as a decided favorite over the Crimson. The University of Pennsylvania nine comes to Cambridge for its match on Soldiers Field at 4 o'clock and is expected to present what will probably be the most formidable opposition given the 1925 team.
Penn Has Won Eight Straight
Pennsylvania has a clean record of eight consecutive easy victories and no defeats. Last Saturday it gave Yale a 7 to 1 trouncing and has swept away all opposition afforded it thus far. Although today's game is not the climax of the season, it will give the University nine a chance to find out just how it stands in respect to its later encounters with Yale and Princeton.
Mahan Makes Shift in Lineup
The same combination which succumbed to the Bowdoin nine on Tuesday will not line up this afternoon. Coach Mahan has made a drastic realignment and will put a team on the field which he expects will be the most well-organized group which can represent his squad.
The most surprising shift in the shake-up is that of Ullman, who has been with Coach Lake's seconds, to take the place of Captain Hammond at second base. Hammond will go to first base and replace Coady, who will not appear in the batting order, while Burgess will take the place of Bennett in center field, completing the changes in position.
