The University lacrosse management announced yesterday that the Morgan cup, which is awarded annually to the Harvard player who does the most for the sport, was given this year to Allen Eugene Reed '26, of Livonia, N. Y.
Reed has played at second defense on the University twelve for the past two years. He was captain of the team this year and was reelected as next year's captain at a dinner for the team Monday night.
The Morgan cup was donated by J. P. Morgan '11, a former player on the University team, in an attempt to stimulate interest in the sport at the University. The winner of the cup has his name engraved on the larger trophy and is presented with a smaller replica which he may keep permanently. The cup itself will be kept at the Union.
