The University fencing team will leave today for New York to take part in the Intercollegiate Fencing Tournament, to be held in Hotel Astor tomorrow and Friday.
The University delegation of nine men will be composed of Coach Danguy, Captain R. A. Durham '25, A. R. Allen Jr. '26, manager. A. G. Carrillo '26, Howard Finney '26, Lendon Snedeker '25, Noel Morss '26, A. C. Lane '27, and F. Y, St. Clair '26. Durham, Carrillo, and Finney will compose the University foils team and Snedeker and Morss will be entered in the epee events. Lane and St. Clair will compete in the Clemens Medal Novice Tournament.
This competition will be the first event of the tournament and will take place tomorrow morning. Tomorrow afternoon will come the epee bouts and in the evening, the foils. These bouts will be continued through Friday, the final decision being reached on Friday evening.
The University team, which at present holds the Intercollegiate championship, enters the meet a strong contender for this year's crown. The team has shown itself strong throughout the season, having lost but one meet, which it dropped to Yale by the close score of 7-6. Throughout these meets the Crimson team showed itself well balanced. Its greatest strength has been in the foils, however, in which it has been victorious against every opponent.
If the championship is won by the Crimson team, it will be the third consecutive intercollegiate crown for the University fencers.
