Two knockouts, two decisions, and one draw, occasioned by a slight casualty, featured the preliminary round of the University boxing tournament at the Hemenway Gymnasium yesterday. The finals will be fought tomorrow.
The feature of the afternoon was the bout between R. H. Hopkins 31, and Joseph Hammer '28, which ended without a decision from the judges. It was brought to a sudden close when Hopkins, colliding with his opponent in a clinch, lost a tooth in the latter's head. Hammer was taken to Wadsworth House for treatment. Over 200 people witnessed the matches.
