The Athletic Committee will probably make some announcement in regard to the football coaching situation after its meeting in University Hall this evening, when the Football Advisory Committee makes its report.
This Committee has gone into the question thoroughly during its recent meetings but nothing has been made public concerning the conclusions which it has reached. There is, however, a widespead feeling throughout the University that Coach Fisher will be retained as head coach in spite of the many reports to the contrary which have appeared from time to time. The Athletic Committee may not make a final decision on the matter at tonight's meeting, however, though an announcement of some sort is expected.
To Discuss Squash Trip
Another question of great importance which it is expected will come to the attention of the Committee this evening is the proposed trip of the squash team to the Intercollegiate Tournament at Buffalo on February 21, 22, and 23. Permission for this trip was originally refused on the ground that minor sport teams should not be allowed to make such extended trips. Since that time, however, news of the fact that Yale's squash team has been given permission to compete in the tournament has reached the University. This, coupled with the fact that there is a strong feeling among undergraduates that the Crimson representatives, who have already easily captured the state championship, could win at Buffalo, may influence the committee to reverse its decision.
May Send Crew South
Still another question which may attract considerable attention from the committee this evening is the possibility of a Spring training trip for the Crew this season, during the Easter recess. Although no official announcement of any kind has been made, there is a persistent rumor that such a trip has been suggested, and that the destination would probably be Philadelphia or some other city in that general locality.
