Harvard has gained the "Big Three" championship in the short story field.
In "The Best College Short Stories of 1924-1925," a volume just published by Stratford Company, the University is represented by two stories among the 21 chosen from 14 college magazines. Yale and Princeton are not represented. "The Hanging of Kruscome Shanks" by W. D. Edmund '26, and "The Miracle of Ilderem All" by an undergraduate calling himself Essenz on Biershaum, are the stories that originally appeared in the Advocate which have been reprinted.
Four Harvard men received honorable mention. "The Three Jests" by C. C. Abbott '28, "The Bypaths," by Howard Finney, "How Christmas Cheer Came to the Chain Gang," by J. N. Leonard '25, and "Monotone" by G. P. Ludlam '25, were named as "stories of distinction."
