Three events in the University Handicap track meet were run off yesterday. Honors in the high-jump went to E. T. Wakefield '27, who cleared 5 feet 9 inches, with a four-inch handicap. Second place was taken by Charles Jenney '26, while third ended in a tie between S. B. Jones '26, and R. F. Knight '28, who were stopped, at 5 feet 7 inches.
Jones again placed when he took first place in the broad jump, clearing a distance of 22 feet with a handicap of 15 inches. D. A. Lomasney '28 and R. F. Knight '28 followed, with 21 feet 9 inches and 21 feet respectively.
The pole-vault was won by W. H. Cleaver '29, with 11 feet 3 inches. L. O. Combs '26 and Bolding Burbank '28 each made vaults of 11 feet, placing second, while R. R. Imping '28 placed third by clearing 10 feet 9 inches. Both Burbank and Combs were at scratch, however, while Cleaver was aided by a 15 inch handicap.
The weight events will take place in the field this afternoon at 2 o'clock. It is very likely that the running events will be omitted entirely this fall, owing to the unusually poor condition of the track.
