Practice for the University football squad yesterday was confined to light work, the coaches deciding against a scrimmage with the black shirts.
Dummy scrimmage, with Teams A and B opposing each other, was followed by a long session of individual instruction, after which the three teams were sent through their signal sessions.
No changes were made in the Team A lineup, except that Coady, not expected back before tomorrow, replaced Howe for a short time.
Saltonstall and Sayles were again at the ends; Nash and Lindner at the tackles; Kilgour, C. H. Bradford, and Macomber in the middle of the forward line; and Cheek, Miller, Crosby, and Howe in the backfield.
Team B, with E. H. Bradford, Pratt. Daniell, Turner, Tripp, Taylor, and Doherty in the line; Stafford, Puffer, Zarakov, and Clark in the backfield, was also unchanged.
Hoague, regular guard on Team B, was still in civilian clothes, but is expected to resume football togs today.
Chauncey, Sophomore carrier who was injured in the pre-season practice, has discarded his crutches and was on the side-lines with Maher, whose ankle is rapidly mending.
Backfield coach E. W. Mahan '16 was another injured man whose condition showed improvement. His foot, recently infected, was sufficiently healed to allow him to be present, and today he is expected to resume his duties in full.
Manager S. deS. Osborne '26 has announced that 50 seats for the Boston College-Haskell Indians game at Braves Field have been reserved for the University football squad. The game is to be played on Monday, October 12, and practice will be suspended on that day.
