The university soccer team will open its 1925 season with a practice game against the Clan Lindsay this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Coach T. B. White, with a starting line-up that contains nine lettermen, expects the game today to disclose a team that will finish well towards the top of the Intercollegiate League.

The whole forward line, with the exception of L. L. Driggs '28, has had university experience. Driggs starred last year on his Freshman team at outer left and will cover the same flank this afternoon.

Secondary Defense has Fine Team-Play

The secondary defense is particularly strong; Captain J. A. McKinnon '27, is leading the team from the important center half position, and with two veteran half-backs to support him should succeed in keeping the forward line well supplied with the ball.

Defense Should Be Airtight

Coach White is also well fortified on the defense. Alexis de Tarnowsky '26 is again stationed at the left fullback post, while A. F. Parrott '28, last year's Freshman captain, and R. H. Thomas '27, veteran goalguard, complete a defense that should be wellnigh impenetrable.

W. T. Pattison '25, last year's university captain, and this year coach of the Freshman team, has '22 candidates working under his direction every afternoon and expressed confidence in the squads latent ability.
