With the passing of the rainy weather and the holidays, play in the University fall tennis tournament was resumed yesterday, with no upsets reported. The third round singles matches, with two exceptions were played off yesterday and several players advanced to the fourth round.
Only five doubles teams have played off their second matches so far, the results of all third round games must be posted by tomorrow night, according to an announcement made yesterday by manager Lyon Boston '26.
J. F. W. Whitbeck '27 and Alden Briggs 1G.B., of the seeded players, both advanced to the fourth round with straight set victories. The defeat of H. N. Rawlins Jr. '27 by E. S. Mindlin in two sets came as a surprise. Mindlin won only after two hard sets, 7--5, 7--5.
In the doubles tournament. Alden Briggs 1G.B. and G. H. Perkins '26 reached the fourth round through default.
