The long felt need for a permanent hot dog stand on Harvard Square will be filled tomorrow, it is expected, when John Whouley, proprietor of John's Lunch and Hazen's Sandwich Shop, opens his new establishment.

For years, the University has had to depend for its hot dog supply upon Larry the Hot Dog Man, with his stand on Massachusetts Avenue Larry was fast becoming an immortal in College traditions, but report has it that he has deserted his little cart for the more pretentious taxi-Bob business. To fill the place he leaves vacant comes Mr. Whouley with a permanent booth.

The stand, advertised under the name of "The Bite," is a small booth on Massachusetts Avenue, built into the side of Leavitt and Pierce's tobacco shop. It may be entered both from the street and from the store, and will be large enough to accomodate about 10 men, standing room only.

The great specialty of Mr. Whouley's latest establishment will be hot frankfurters and rolls, but hot coffee and hamburger sandwiches will also be served.

Owing to the extreme lack of space, it is improbable that any extensive menu will be practical.

"The real object of the shop," explained Mr. Whouley to the CRIMSON last night," is to let the follows grab a hot dog and be sociable while they're buying their tobacco next door."
