Yesterday was Harvard's own day at the Greenwich Country Club, when all four of the Crimson entries in the Commonwealth Country Club open tournament won their matches. C. L. Peirson Jr. '25 defeated Joe Norton Jr., 2 and 1; R. M. Clough '24 defeated H. C. Dodge, 6 and 5; Clark Hodder '25 defeated G. D. Hall, 7 and 5; and J. J. Mapes '25 defeated W. A. Ouimet, 19 holes.
Mapes was the only Crimson golfer who was at all hard pressed. Hodder was playing on his home course, where he had in 67 medal, everything holed. Peirson early got the jump on the medalist, Norton, when the latter missed a two-foot putt at the first hole.
The intercollegiate championship takes place at the Greenwich Country Club the week after next, and yesterday's success boosts the Crimson's prospects materially.
