EXPECT TO HOLD NEW ENGLAND MAT MEET HERE NEXT YEAR

Sectional Tourneys, Augmented Entries to Feature Season

Harvard will be the scene of the New England Intercollegiate Wrestling Championships next year, according to a decision reached at the annual meeting of the Association in Boston recently. The first and second team preliminary rounds will be held on March 20, with the finals on the following evening.

Dr. Rockwell, of M. I. T. who was elected secretary-treasurer of the association was the representative of the New England organization at the recent meeting of the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association held in New York, where he proposed a new plan of sectional contests for the Eastern championships. If adopted, many more eastern colleges will be able to join the Association, and only the sectional champions will compete in the finals.

Such an arrangement would make it very probable that a Harvard team which won the New England championship would compete with champions of other parts of the country in the finals.

It is possible that Williams, Norwich, and Tufts may join the New England Association next year, according to T. R. Wickersham '26, assistant manager of the Crimson team, who, with manager Cummings of Brown has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the Association. An increase in the number of competing teams will be a help rather than a hindrance to the University however, whose five veterans will have more than an even chance of carrying off the team championship.
