While Coach Farrell was beginning his last week of intensive training in the Stadium yesterday afternoon with his University and Freshman squads before their joint meets with Yale in Cambridge on Saturday afternoon, active preparations were going on in the H.A.A. Office for the remaining details of the meet.
Harvard Section, at Finish Line
Applications closed at 5 o'clock last night for reserved seat at the meet. According to Mr. C.F. Getchell, in charge of the ticket office, an entire section in the bowl of the Stadium at the finish of the dashes has been reserved by Harvard supporters. Another complete section in the bowl has been consigned to the Yale athletic association, for the use of members of the Yale clubs of Boston and New York and for Yale undergraduates. In addition, rush seats will be on sale from now on at the H.A.A. and at the Soldiers Field gates on Saturday afternoon, as the regular season ticket books will not be good for this meet. The total attendance is expected to surpass by a sizeable margin the crowd of 5000 which watched Coach Bingham's team defeat Yale in the Stadium two years ago.
Arrangements were also completed yesterday afternoon by Manager Bickford with the University band which will play during the meet.' Besides the usual Harvard songs, there will be organized cheering in the Harvard sections, led by B.S. Cogan '23, former member of the University track squad, and song leader during the 1922 football season.
